Our Mission
Life For Real provides Pulitzer-prize-caliber visual storytelling to nonprofits and NGOs so they can continue and grow the essential work the world needs them to pursue.

Our Process
EXPLORE
Step one is to determine if what I do can be of significant enough benefit to make our working together worthwhile for both of us.
PLAN
Once we agree to moving forward, we select a project that will highlight the work you do, the need that exists, and the impact your organization makes.
COLLECT
This is when content is created. Projects vary in length, normally between 2 and 10 days, depending on travel, subject availability, project complexity, etc.
DELIVER
We review the work I’ve created and discussing how to maximize the value it can provide your organization.

Who I Am
I’m a photographer.
More specifically, a photojournalist.
More importantly, a storyteller.
I’ve documented a Canadian nonprofit re-shaping and re-igniting communities in rural Kenya by building new schools. Photographed Barack Obama’s historic Inauguration for AARP. Received a Pulitzer prize with the Rocky Mountain News chronicling wildfires that ravaged Colorado. And, earned over 30 other national and international awards for photography and picture editing.
I have done my best – as a father of two amazing kids – to pass on my values about pursuing dreams that matter, engaging in worthwhile struggles, and sharing our good fortune with others.
I’ve been to 24 countries, earned a living (briefly) as a Jimmy Buffett wannabe, and will say “yes” to a game of Hearts or Spades any time of the day or night.
And, when it comes to work, nothing means more to me than creating pictures and stories to help purpose-driven companies build a bridge between dire need and transformative impact.
I’m with you. All the way.
“A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.”
— Jackie Robinson
What’s Next?
Every project and every business is different. It’s important that we feel comfortable and confident working together.
Let’s set aside time to talk person to person and see where that takes us.
